The 5000 aluminum plate series is a commonly used alloy aluminum plate series. The main element is magnesium, and the magnesium content is between 3-5%. Also known as an aluminum-magnesium alloy. Comparison of 5083 and 5754 aluminum sheets

Of all the non-heat-treatable alloys, grade 5083 alloys are the strongest, although not as strong or as hard as the more common grade 6082 alloys. Grade 5083 alloys are primarily available in sheet form, most commonly in the o temper.

Grade 5754 alloys are medium strength alloys. In comparison, it is not as strong as 6082 or 5083, but 5754 is worse than 5251. Grade 5754 is most commonly used in the production of aluminum 5 bar treadplate (often referred to as aluminum chequer plate). Typically, an aluminum chequer plate is made of 5754-grade aluminum in h114 condition – semi-hard.
