Alloy properties of 5000 series aluminum sheets
The 5000 aluminum plate series is a commonly used alloy aluminum plate series. The main element is magnesium, and the magnesium content is between 3-5%. Also known as an aluminum-magnesium alloy. Its main features are low density, high tensile strength, and high elongation. 5000 Series Aluminum Sheets
5 series aluminum plate features:
1. Good corrosion resistance. The 5 series aluminum plate is the most acid and alkali corrosion resistant among the 8 aluminum plate series, which makes the 5 series aluminum plate suitable for the environment that most aluminum plates cannot adapt to, and greatly expands the application range of aluminum.
2. Good workability. The 5-series aluminum plate has high plasticity and good processing performance and can be adapted to various processing methods such as bending, stamping, and stretching.
3. Good thermal conductivity. The 5 series aluminum plate has excellent thermal conductivity and is the best material for making equipment shells and radiators.

Comparison of 5083 and 5754 aluminum sheets
Of all the non-heat-treatable alloys, grade 5083 alloys are the strongest, although not as strong or as hard as the more common grade 6082 alloys. Grade 5083 alloys are primarily available in sheet form, most commonly in the o temper.
Grade 5754 alloys are medium strength alloys. In comparison, it is not as strong as 6082 or 5083, but 5754 is worse than 5251. Grade 5754 is most commonly used in the production of aluminum 5 bar treadplate (often referred to as aluminum chequer plate). Typically, an aluminum chequer plate is made of 5754-grade aluminum in h114 condition – semi-hard.
