6063-T6 aluminum is 6063 aluminum in the T6 temper. To achieve this temper, the metal is solution heat-treated and artificially aged until it meets standard mechanical property requirements. 6063 VS 6061 One key difference is that 6061 is the stronger of the two, and in the T6 temper its strength is approximately equal to structural steel. As such, it is often used for structural applications. One advantage of 6063, on the other hand, is that it’s easier to form into complex shapes with smooth surfaces. It is also very suitable for anodizing.
