What is the density of aluminum sheet? How to calculate the weight of aluminum alloy?

The density of pure aluminum is small, about 1/3 that of iron.

The density of aluminum alloy naturally varies according to the model and the alloying elements added, and the density of aluminum sheet ranges from 2.7 to 2.84. The densities of several commonly used aluminum alloy plates are as follows.

1 series aluminum plate density: 0.00271 kg/m³

2xxx series aluminum sheet density: 0.0028 kg/m³

3000 series aluminium alloy sheet density: 0.00273 kg/m³

6xxx series aluminum sheet density: 0.00275 kg/m³

Density of 7000 series aluminum sheet: 0.00285 kg/m³

Generally speaking, the density of aluminum alloy containing copper elements is higher, but in order to calculate the weight of aluminum plate more quickly and conveniently, we take the average value of density 0.0028 kg/m³, and the weight of aluminum plate calculated intelligently as a reference, and finally the actual weight shall prevail.

The calculation formula of aluminum plate is as follows.

Aluminum plate weight (kg) = 2.8 * thickness × width × length / 1000000 (Note: All the above units of measure are mm.)

Aluminum plate weight (kg) = 2.8*thickness × width × length (Note: thickness unit is mm. width length unit is meter)

The above two methods can be calculated, the difference in the unit of length is different, and finally share with you the weight calculation method of aluminum tube and aluminum bar

Aluminum tube weight (kg) = 0.00879 × wall thickness × (outside diameter – wall thickness) × length
Aluminum bar weight calculation formula (kg) = 0.0022×diameter×diameter×length

(Note: The above unit of length is meter, others are mm.)
