The corrosion resistance of 1060 aluminum sheet

1060 aluminum sheet is another representative product in 1000 series aluminum alloys. 1060 aluminum alloy is formed by pure aluminum added by a small amount of copper element, which has excellent forming processing characteristics, high corrosion resistance, good weld ability and conductivity. The same as 1050 aluminum sheet, the aluminum sheet 1060 is widely used in products with low strength requirements, such as chemical instruments, sheet metal processing parts, deep drawing or spinning concave containers, welding parts, heat exchangers, clock surfaces and disk surfaces, nameplates, kitchenware, decorations, reflectors and so on.

The chemical composition of 1060 aluminum sheet alloy are: Iron (Fe) 0.35%, Manganese (Mn) 0.03%, Magnesium (Mg) 0.03%, Silicon (Si) 0.25%, Zinc (Zn) 0.05%, Titanium (Ti) 0.03%, Copper (Cu) 0.05%, Aluminum (Al) more than 99.6%. The mechanical properties of aluminum sheet 1060 alloy are: the ultimate tensile strength of σb is higher than 75 MPa, the conditional yield strength is higher than 35 MPa.The heat treatment process of 1060 aluminum sheet is:

Fast annealing: the heating temperature is 350~410 degrees centigrade; with the effective thickness of the material, the heat preservation time is between 30 and 120min; cooling in air or water.

High temperature annealing: the heating temperature is 350~500 DEG C; if the finished thickness is not less than 6mm, the holding time is 10 ~ 30min, if the thickness is less than 6mm, heat until all the sheet is hot, cooling in the air.

Low temperature annealing: the heating temperature is 150~250 degrees centigrade; the heat preservation time is 2 ~ 3H; cooling in air or water.
